(Cuyahoga County) - The Strongsville Board of Education made it official this morning.
At a 9am emergency meeting, they approved the contract reached with the teachers union Friday night after seven hours of bargaining.
Striking teachers approved the tentative agreement Saturday. Regular teachers will return to their classrooms on Tuesday. Monday will be a transition day for substitute intructors.
No school for students on Monday during the transition.
The strike over salary and working conditions at the district involved around 400 teachers and 6,200 students.
The federal mediation and conciliation service said in a statement that both sides affirmed their joint commitment to move forward in a positive atmosphere.
It appears the teachers got much of what they wanted, with the board getting concessions on health care.
