BB gun incident: "Kids making poor decisions"

BB gun incident:

(Euclid) - Superintendent of schools Keith Bell says Monday's incident in which a school bus window was shot out with a BB gun was handled quickly and promptly, and it all led to injured students being treated quickly, and the arrest of two suspects.

Euclid police say two 14-year-old boys are being questioned after a window on a school bus was shot out Monday afternoon along East 258th Street at Richards Avenue. Three students on the bus had minor injuries and were treated and released from Euclid Hospital. The BB gun was later recovered.

Bell says the incident was likely a case of kids doing something they shouldn't have been doing. "This time of year, you get kids sometimes making poor decisions, and this just happened to be one of them," says Bell.

The superintendent credits school staff and Euclid safety forces in their quick response, including making sure the parents of the injured children were quickly notified.

The case has been turned over to the Cuyahoga County prosecutor.
