Cavaliers plant trees in Cleveland

(Cleveland) - The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Cleveland office of PwC US spent their morning making the Northeast Ohio community a greener place!

Dozens gathered together to help plant trees at Sam Miller Park along East 88th Street, with the help of Pettiti Garden Centers.

This event was part of the "Trees for Threes” program, in which the Cavs and PwC have pledged to plant one tree for every Cavs three-pointer made during their 2013-14 regular season home games.

This spring, Cavs and PwC volunteers will branch out into the community to plant a total of 291 new trees, donated by Pettiti Garden Centers, to beautify the landscape throughout Northeast Ohio!

“The Cavaliers are proud to join PwC and launch such an impactful initiative,” said Cavaliers Vice President of Community Relations Colleen Garrity. She told Newsradio WTAM 1100, “Not only are we making a positive difference in our environment through ‘Trees for Threes’, but we’re teaching students the importance of getting out into the community to beautify the places where they live, learn and play.”

PwC US provides tax and advisory services through a network of firms in 157 countries.
